Strategic Planning & Execution

Every business, and every product is unique and we like to treat it as such. We will work collaboratively with you to build a roadmap that is aligned to your outcomes.

Identify Outcomes

We’ll begin with the end in mind. Together we’ll start by quantifying the objectives you are trying to reach for your product and customers. Strategy is what moves your product backlog from a list of features, to a cohesive outcome-driven product release.

What’s the Story?

Traditional Product Management focuses heavily on feedback, data and metrics — which we know are all absolutely important for successful products. But, simply by themselves, they can dig a roadmap rut for a product or portfolio of products and smother innovation.

The absolute best product companies you can think of have product teams that are not focused on just shipping features (although they do) and pouring through user data (although they absolutely have it)… they are primarily focused and aligned on the STORY for everything they do. This allows the product and portfolio visions to transcend only the “job to be done.”

If Henry Ford would have asked people what they wanted, they would have said FASTER HORSES. Both cars and faster horses deliver a solution for the job to be done… but the car story had to be told to connect it with its soon-to-be users, and ultimately raving fans.

Map it Out

Whenever a product is advertised to us, there is a vision of the future that is presented along with it. You, currently live your life in the present… without this product. Imagine what your life would be… in the future… with this product.

We’ll help you envision that future, tell that story, and construct a roadmap to get there!

S-OKR-T

Story-Driven OKR’s: OKR’s + Story & Tasks.

Many organizations use OKRs (Objectives and Key-Results) to align and track progress towards their stated organizational objectives. It’s a great tool, but it has some blind spots. We can help your team adopt the S-OKR-T system which includes the STORY behind the objectives, plus what TASKS actually need to happen to achieve the key results.

Traditional OKRs help with the “WHAT?”

S-OKR-T adds the “WHY?” (your story) and the “HOW?” (tasks to be done)
